I love wine. In order, I love espresso, then wine, then houses. Houses merely furnish the opportunity to drink wine, and of course, to store it! On a recent project, I had the occasion to create a wine cellar for a very discerning collector of Bourgogne and Piemontese wines, 8,000 bottles to be precise. I was disappointed with the shelving available, and instead designed a system which I find exceptional, and most importantly, flexible enough to hold the many different formats one encounters today. On another, not only did I get to build the pizzeria Napolitana in Portland and Manhattan, I got to create the wine list as well!
